Some viruses like to mess around with the following files
autoexec.nt
config.nt
command.com
This error message occurs when one of these files is missing or damaged.
The AUTOEXEC.NT file is used by InstallShield® and is a necessary file in order to install this and many other software programs.
Luckily, it is most likely that the autoexec.nt file is the problem.
To correct this problem:
- Go to Windows Explorer
- Click on your C: drive
- Click on WINDOWS folder
- Click on Repair folder
- Locate the file autoexec.nt
- Copy the file by clicking on it once and pressing Control + C
- Next go to C:\windows\system32 folder
- Paste the autoexec.nt file into the C:\windows\system32 by pressing Control + V
